Salman Shah’s Fate Changed With a Single Phone Call

Salman shah’s fate changed with a single phone call— how it happened that time, let’s dive deep into the story. This iconic actor of the 1990s and one of the most beloved stars in Bangladeshi cinema, remains alive in the hearts of fans even today.

Recently, an old video of the late actor went viral on social media, where he shared his dreams, early struggles, and the story of how he entered the world of acting.

In the video, Salman Shah says he began modeling while studying in class five. Later, he passed auditions and started acting in television dramas. But at that time, he never imagined joining the film industry.

He further said that one day, director Sohanur Rahman Sohan called him. After introducing himself, Sohan mentioned that he had seen Salman’s popular TV commercial and became curious about him. After gathering some information, Sohan called him one afternoon.

Regarding that call, Salman Shah said Sohan wanted to discuss a film with him. They later sat together, and Sohan offered him the lead role. He wanted to make a Bangladeshi version of the Hindi film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. Sohan told him he would be happy if Salman agreed to do the movie. Hearing this unexpected proposal, Salman was thrilled.

However, Salman mentioned that he acted purely out of passion, not as a profession. He had already seen the original film starring Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla and was deeply moved by their performances. He used to dream of playing such a role or being part of such a story. He thought if such a film were ever made in Bangladesh, he would be delighted to act in it.

Salman added that hearing Sohan’s proposal felt like his dream was coming true—but he wasn’t sure how to decide. He told the director he needed to talk to his parents first. Initially, his parents were hesitant, but seeing their son’s excitement, they eventually agreed.

Salman Shah captured the hearts of fans from his very first film. After the release of Keyamat Theke Keyamat in 1993, he gained nationwide fame. Although his time in the film industry was brief, he appeared in a total of 27 films. The actor passed away on 6 September 1996.
