BNP-nominated candidate and former joint convener of the Chattogram district BNP, Sarwar Alamgir, received an overwhelming welcome upon returning to his village after securing the party’s nomination for the Chattogram-2 (Fatikchhari) constituency.
On Wednesday (November 5), shortly after receiving the nomination, he arrived in Fatikchhari, where thousands of locals and party activists greeted him with slogans and a motorcycle rally from the Nazirhat New Bridge area to his village home. He later visited the graves of his late father, Engineer Nur Ahmad, and his mother.

Alamgir also visited several shrines in Maizbhandar, including those of Gausul Azam Syed Ahmad Ullah Maizbhandari, Syed Golamur Rahman Maizbhandari, and Syed Ziaul Haque Maizbhandari. He later met with Hefazat-e-Islam Ameer Shah Allama Mohibullah Babunagari at Babunagar Madrasah.
Throughout the day, he was warmly received at the Fatikchhari sadar Bibirhat BNP office and during visits to various areas, including Bhujpur, Narayanhat, Dantmara, and Baganbazar. Thousands of supporters gathered at each stop to hear his remarks.
Among those present were Fatikchhari Municipality BNP convener Mobarak Hossain Kanchan, Ahmed Hossain Talukdar, district Krishak Dal member-secretary Nazim Uddin Shahin, freedom fighter Mahbubul Alam Chowdhury, Faridul Alam (B.A.), Munsur Alam Chowdhury, Nasir Uddin, and leaders from various BNP and affiliated organizations.
