Assistant Coach Salahuddin Submits Resignation to BCB

Mohammad Salahuddin, assistant coach of the Bangladesh national cricket team, has submitted his resignation to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

Salahuddin took charge as the national team’s assistant coach on November 5 last year. In his first assignment, he was given responsibility for the batting unit during the West Indies series. However, the Tigers struggled under his tenure, with the batting lineup showing clear inconsistency and a lack of sustained performance.

During Monday’s BCB board meeting, former captain Mohammad Ashraful was appointed as the new batting coach for the upcoming Ireland series. The decision immediately put Salahuddin’s future under scrutiny.

On Wednesday morning (November 5), Salahuddin arrived at the BCB headquarters and stayed for several hours before formally submitting his resignation. The BCB, however, has not yet accepted it.

A source in the Cricket Operations Department said the decision on whether to accept the resignation remains pending. A board director added that the BCB is still interested in retaining him.

Salahuddin currently has a contract with the BCB through the 2027 Cricket World Cup, but he has reportedly cited personal reasons for wanting to step aside early.
