Family Members Snatch Jubo League Leader from Police Custody. Jubo League leader Gazi Borhan Uddin was facing multiple criminal charges, including murder, reportedly snatched him from police custody in Brahmanbaria’s Sarail upazila.

The incident occurred on Tuesday (November 4) evening in front of the Aruail Police Camp at Aruail Bazar. The suspect, Borhan Uddin, is the convener of the Aruail Union Jubo League.

According to local sources, police personnel from the Aruail camp arrested Borhan Uddin around 5 p.m. on Tuesday in connection with several cases filed since August 5 of last year. After he was brought to the camp, his brother, Gazi Gias Uddin, along with an estimated 150–200 supporters, gathered there and pressured police to release him.

Around 6:30 p.m., police attempted to transport Borhan to the Sarail police station in two CNG-run autorickshaws. However, they were attacked near the Aruail outpost, and the group managed to forcibly take Borhan away.

When contacted, Sub-Inspector Tipu Sultan, in charge of the Aruail Police Camp, confirmed Borhan’s arrest but declined to comment on whether he was currently in police custody.

Sarail Police Station Officer-in-Charge Morshedul Alam Chowdhury said officers were heading to the scene and would provide details after further investigation.
