Ahead of the upcoming national election, the BNP has initially announced candidates for 237 constituencies. While the party nominated candidates in all constituencies of 26 districts, it left 63 constituencies across 38 districts without any candidates. Among these, there is one district where the BNP did not nominate a single candidate.
On Monday (3 November), after a meeting with the party’s Standing Committee and organizational teams at the BNP Chairperson’s Gulshan office, Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the names of the selected candidates at a press conference.

According to the list released by the party, although Bagerhat has three constituencies, BNP did not nominate any candidate for any of them. The slots for all three constituencies in the list remain empty.
The BNP is considering allocating 40 of the 63 vacant seats to its alliance partners. The central committee has yet to decide on the remaining 23 seats, and those decisions will be announced later.
