A fire that broke out in a pile of discarded wooden materials at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant project in Pabna was brought under control within 45 minutes, officials said.
According to the Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence, the blaze erupted around 12:32 p.m. on Thursday. Responding to an emergency call, units stationed just 300 yards away reached the site within one minute.
A total of eight fire units from Rooppur Modern, Green City, Rooppur Temporary Station, and Ishwardi Fire Station worked to contain the fire. Crews successfully brought the situation under control at 1:15 p.m.
Officials said the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
