The National Citizen Party (NCP) has announced that it will field candidates in all 300 constituencies in the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election.
In a special video message on Tuesday (4 November), the party’s convener, Nahid Islam, made the announcement addressing the nation and NCP leaders and activists across the country.
Nahid Islam said, “Those who want to engage in new politics and work for the country’s development should join the NCP. We are nominating honest, qualified, and patriotic candidates in every district and every constituency. We will finalize our candidate list within this month.”
He added, “God willing, we will contest in all 300 seats with the ‘Shapla Koli’ (Water Lily Bud) symbol. The support and response we have received from people in such a short time give us confidence that this will be reflected in the upcoming election.”
Nahid Islam further stated that the party had consistently requested the ‘Shapla’ symbol from the Election Commission since its formation. “But the Election Commission delayed in granting the symbol. We had to fight for this Shapla symbol,” he said.
