Dengue Claims Four More Lives in Bangladesh

Four more people have died from dengue, according to a report released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday afternoon (4 November).

The DGHS said 1,101 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals in the 24 hours between Monday 8 a.m. and Tuesday 8 a.m. Of them, 151 were admitted in Barishal Division, 125 in Chattogram Division, 208 in Dhaka Division (outside the city corporations), 241 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 175 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 59 in Khulna Division (outside the city corporation area), 75 in Mymensingh Division (outside the city corporation area), 45 in Rajshahi Division (outside the city corporation area), 19 in Rangpur Division (outside the city corporation area), and three in Sylhet Division (outside the city corporation area).

During the same 24-hour period, 1,077 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals nationwide. With this, a total of 70,529 people have recovered so far this year.

According to DGHS data, 73,923 patients have been hospitalized with dengue since January. The virus has claimed 292 lives across the country this year.
