A teenager was killed and another critically injured after losing control of a motorcycle during a high-speed race with friends in Shahjadpur, Sirajganj.
The accident occurred around 12 p.m. on Sunday (2 November) on the Bogura–Nagarbari Highway in the Tetiar Kanda area. The victim, identified as Ruhan (17), was a resident of Ullapara municipality. The injured rider, Badsha, is the son of Sanoar Hossain from Goyhata village in Ullapara.
According to eyewitnesses, several youths on three motorcycles were racing at excessive speed from Ullapara toward Pabna. As they approached the Tetiar Kanda area in Shahjadpur’s Narina Union, the bikes collided with each other. One motorcycle then veered off the road and slammed into a mahogany tree.
Ruhan died on the spot. Locals rescued the severely injured Badsha and took him to the PPD Hospital in Shahjadpur. He was later referred to Dhaka’s Pongu Hospital for advanced treatment.
Shahjadpur Police SI Emdad Hossain confirmed the incident, saying the crash occurred when the riders lost control during the race, resulting in one death and one critical injury.
