Ten people have died from dengue in the past 24 hours, bringing the nationwide death toll this year to 302, according to a statement issued Wednesday (November 5) by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The DGHS report says five of the deaths occurred in Dhaka South City Corporation, three in Dhaka North, and one each in the Khulna and Barishal divisions.
A total of 1,069 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals in the last 24 hours. Among them: 128 in Barishal, 99 in Chattogram, 219 in districts outside Dhaka City Corporation areas, 251 in Dhaka North, 152 in Dhaka South, 68 in Khulna (outside the city corporation), 70 in Mymensingh, 34 in Rajshahi, 43 in Rangpur, and 5 in Sylhet.
During the same period, 958 patients were discharged from hospitals nationwide. With this, the total number of people released after treatment this year stands at 71,487.
