Fereshteh Starring Jaya Ahsan to Stream on OTT. The film Fereshteh, starring Jaya Ahsan and centered on the lives of society’s marginalized communities, is set for its OTT premiere after a successful festival run and theatrical release. Following screenings at international film festivals, the Bangladesh-Iran co-production hit theaters on September 19. Now, the film will stream on the OTT platform Bongo starting November 2.
Directed by Iranian filmmaker Morteza Atashzamzam, Fereshteh follows the story of a Dhaka rickshaw-puller and his garment worker wife. Their lives unfold through hardship, injustice, resilience, and the unbreakable strength of humanity. The film was shot in real-life urban locations, trading glamour for raw authenticity, making the narrative more intimate and believable for viewers.
The lead roles are played by Suman Faruk and Jaya Ahsan, with performances by Shahiduzzaman Selim, Shahed Ali, Rikita Nandini Shimu, Shahin Mridha, and child artist Shathi, among others. Completed in 2022, the film has been screened and praised at several international festivals.
